It is with great pride and pleasure that we welcome you to High Trust Bank.
In 1907, High Trust Bank began its roots as The Bank of Leary in Leary, Georgia. Leary is located twenty miles southwest of Albany, Georgia and is one of Georgia’s original farming communities and is still known for its cotton and peanut agriculture. In 1909, W. D. Jordon became the Bank President and changed the name to the Jordan Banking Company which operated in Leary as a private bank until December 31, 1965. On January 1, 1966, the Jordan Banking Company received a State of Georgia financial institution charter. It remained the Jordan Banking Company until October 1, 2002, when Burt Blackmon and Tammy Harper purchased 100% of the outstanding common shares of the Bank at which time the name was changed to Southern Horizon Bank. On April 1, 2007, a portion of Southern Horizon Bank was diversely sold to several business leaders in Atlanta’s Indian community and the name was changed to High Trust Bank.
